FT: SLOW-SIMMERED CHICKEN BONE BROTH
Founding Kitchen Test: Slow-Simmered Chicken Bone Broth
Slow-simmered chicken bone broth made with Bostock Brothers chicken frames and feet, vegetables, herbs, peppercorns and apple cider vinegar.
This broth contains no added salt. It has been left deliberately unseasoned so it can be tasted as it is, seasoned to preference or used in everyday cooking.
This is an early Daily Nourish development batch and is not currently available for sale. We’re gathering honest feedback before finalising the recipe, portion size, packaging and price.
Each frozen jar contains approximately 500 ml. Your batch information, storage instructions and use-by date are printed on the jar.

GIVE US YOUR HONEST FEEDBACK
Thank you for taking part in this early Daily Nourish kitchen test.
Please be completely honest, the most useful feedback is what worked, what didn’t, what you would change and whether you would genuinely buy the meal.
----------------------------------------------------------------
How to test the broth
Please taste a small amount plain before seasoning it or using the remainder in cooking.
- Thaw the jar upright overnight in the refrigerator, or remove the lid and defrost in the microwave
- Transfer a portion (~ half a jar) to a microwave-safe cup
- Heat until piping hot throughout.
- Taste it without adding salt first.
- Use the remainder for sipping, soup, sauces, gravy, rice or other everyday cooking.
[Parenting Hack] Add bone broth to bolognaise sauce, mashed potatoes, etc. to sneak in / add a extra nutrition hit to your family meals.
When completing the feedback form, consider:
- Flavor and aroma
- Richness and mouthfeel
- Whether you would prefer it seasoned or unsalted
- Whether you would drink it, cook with it or both
- Whether 500 ml is a useful quantity
- Packaging and ease of use
- What you would realistically expect to pay
- Whether you would return or exchange the glass jar

About this test batch
This approximately 15-litre batch was made with:
- Six packs of Bostock Brothers chicken frames, approximately 6 kg in total
- One 500 g pack of chicken feet
- Onion
- Carrots
- Celery
- Leek
- Bay Leaves
- Garlic
- Flat-leaf parsley
- Black peppercorns
- Apple cider vinegar
- Water
The ingredients were slowly simmered for ~ 12hours, before the broth was strained, cooled and portioned.
Chicken feet contribute body and help the broth form a natural gel when cold. We are testing whether the final recipe needs the full 500 g pack or whether a smaller amount can provide the same result.
What to expect
The broth may become firm or jelly-like when refrigerated. This is normal and it will return to liquid when heated.
You may also notice:
- A small amount of fat on the surface
- Fine natural sediment
- Slight variation between jars
-
A mild flavor before salt or seasoning is added
These are normal characteristics of a minimally processed broth made from chicken frames, feet and vegetables.
Allergen information
Based on the current recipe, no regulated allergens are intentionally added.
This is a development batch prepared in a shared commercial kitchen. Supplier specifications and cross-contact controls are still being reviewed.
Please tell us about any food allergies or dietary restrictions before accepting a test jar. This product is not suitable for anyone who requires food prepared in an allergen-controlled environment.
Storage
Keep frozen until ready to use and follow the use-by date printed on the jar.

Once thawed:
- Keep refrigerated
- Use within 24 hours
- Do not refreeze
- Only heat the amount you intend to use
- Reheat once only
Do not thaw the broth at room temperature. Do not use the jar if it is cracked, damaged or has leaked.
Heating
Heat until piping hot throughout and, where measured, the centre reaches at least 75°C.
What Daily Nourish is working towards
Daily Nourish exists to remove the effort from eating properly.
We’re developing a versatile broth made from recognisable ingredients that can be sipped warm, used as the base for soups and sauces or added to everyday cooking.
This test will help us decide:
- Whether the flavor and richness are right
- Whether the recipe needs the full quantity of chicken feet
- Whether the broth should remain unsalted
- Whether 500 ml is the right size
- Whether glass is practical for customers
- Whether the recipe can be produced consistently at a workable price
The final recipe will be shaped by the evidence from these small test batches and the honest feedback we receive.
